About William Jackson

I am an American photographer from Detroit, Michigan, now based in northern Portugal.

My work explores the connection between people, places, and light—from the rugged Atlantic coast of Portugal to the streets of Southeast Asia. Whether photographing a portrait, a fishing village at dawn, or historic architecture, I look for images that reveal character, atmosphere, and a sense of place.

Photography has taken me around the world. My years in the United States Air Force and later travels throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia shaped the way I see—not simply documenting where I go, but creating photographs that invite people to slow down and look more closely.

Today I divide my time between Portugal and Southeast Asia, creating fine art photographs, portraits, and travel imagery.
